Welcome to My Journey: Embracing Health and Resilience

Welcome to My Journey: Embracing Health and Resilience

I've always been an active person. From camping and adventuring in the woods as a child, to wrestling throughout middle and high school, to enlisting in the Marine Corps, and later joining the Army National Guard and the regular Active Army—my life has been a tapestry of physical challenges and adventures. However, it wasn't until recently that I realized how unhealthy I had been, from the way I worked out (particularly how I ran) to the way I ate.

After much reading, research, contemplation, and watching several eye-opening documentaries on health, fitness, and the food industry, it dawned on me: if I, who thought I was healthy, was getting it wrong, then others are likely getting it wrong too. And as I looked around, I saw that they were indeed getting it wrong.

Much of America, and slowly the world as a whole, is getting it wrong.

This realization deeply concerned me. What started with my grandparents' generation getting it wrong has perpetuated and worsened down to my children's generation. What began as simple profit gains for small farmers has morphed into a devious industry that reaches into all levels of government and spans several different sectors. I have come to realize that there is major profit in the masses being fat, sick, and ignorant. There is no money in you being healthy.

Where does it end? Will our nation and the world's governments collapse due to their inability to sustain themselves because too many people have become too unhealthy to work and must rely on the government? It may sound far-fetched, but unfortunately, it's not. Regarding health and fitness, the world is on a crash course to disaster.

Even more troubling is that there are devious motives behind it all. The US and the world don't have an "obesity problem." We have a greed problem. Again, there is no money, no power, in you being healthy.

So, who is going to break the cycle? I recently read a quote from Heraclitus on being a warrior:

"Out of every one hundred men, ten shouldn't even be there, Eighty are just targets, Nine are the real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they make the battle. Ah, but the one, One is a warrior, And he will bring the others back."

It is my hope that it will be you. I hope that you will continue to read this blog and be inspired to change yourself, your family, your children, your community, your country, and the world. I hope that you will step up and be that one warrior.

Together, let's embark on this journey towards health, resilience, and positive change. Thank you for joining me.
